A grass fire, a car on fire and a small fire in an industrial building are among the call-outs that have kept firefighters busy. Firefighters have been kept busy dealing with vegetation, building, and car fires across Tasman district. Firefighters from the Richmond and Appleby Voluntary Rural Fire Force were on scene for 40 minutes extinguishing the fire. Firefighters from Richmond, Upper Moutere, Mahana and Appleby responded to the fire and were on scene for an hour. Crews from Upper Moutere, Mapua, Motueka and the Tasman Voluntary Rural Fire Force worked to get the fire of around 50m by 50m under control.
