A fire service spokesman said five fire crews and three water tankers were sent to the scene in Matokitoki Valley Rd at 9.11pm on Monday. The standalone house was well involved but crews were expecting to have the fire under control soon, he said. A police spokeswoman said the fire was being treated as suspicious.
