Fire crews were working in intense heat and zero visibility to combat a house fire at 417 109 St. W. this morning. The Saskatoon Fire Department sent crews from four fire stations to the house after receiving a 911 call about smoke at 8:49 a.m. The firefighters were faced with heavy smoke when they entered the home, working their way into the basement, where the firefighting effort was hampered by the confined space.
