My parents took me to Los Angeles in the mid-80's and went shopping at Maxfield. He and my dad were trying on colorful Yohji Yamamoto jackets, and talking to each other about Japanese designers. I moved to Los Angeles when I was 22 and got a job at Maxfield where I stayed for 12 years.
