For a second day in row, commuters faced long delays Wednesday on the TTC’s subway Line 1, this time due to a cracked rail. Signal problems resulting from the cracked rail at Bloor station caused delays for those travelling northbound from King station, beginning at about 6:40 a.m. and causing four hours of delays. By 7 a.m., “feverishly working” maintenance staff were able to make a temporary fix, but train speeds remained reduced in the area, said TTC spokesperson Brad Ross via Twitter. Permanent repairs were expected to be made after the subway closed for the night around 1:30 a.m..
