“We have arrested 50 teenagers and confiscated 45 motorcycles for investigation,” Chum Phae Police Station superintendent Pol Colonel Sarayut Champhiew said. He said soldiers and administrative officials had helped with the operation. “Illegal road racing causes loud noise and threatens the safety of road users.”He said all motorcycles confiscated from the operation would be examined. Sarayut said after paying the fine, parents of the young offenders must also ensure their vehicles comply with laws. “Repeat offenders will face maximum penalty,” he warned.
