Cox's Bazar admin making list of houses at risk of landslideCOX'S BAZAR, June 15 (bdnews24.com): The Cox's Bazar district administration has started listing all homes in the district vulnerable to landslides.Heavy rains in the hill districts since Monday have caused landslides that resulted in massive casualties. As of Wednesday night, the Ministry of Disaster Management and Relief's official count of deaths stood at 150.The landslides killed 105 people in Rangamati, 29 in Chittagong, six in Bandarban, two in Cox's Bazar and one in Khagrachhari. "The administration is taking several initiatives to relocate people from dangerous areas," Magistrate Islam said. "In addition to the lists we are also taking steps to secure housing and temporary food for the victims of the disaster. "Five teams led by an executive magistrate will be working in Cox's Bazar city, he said.An initial list has identified 1,000 families living in high-risk areas in Cox's Bazar, Islam said.
