Cox accused looked like he hadn’t a care in the world, says witness

An alleged rightwing extremist walked away as though he “hadn’t a care in the world” after he shot and stabbed the Labour MP Jo Cox, the Old Bailey was told today. The description of Thomas Mair, 53, was given by a witness to the attack, David Honeybell, who had been planning to speak to the MP on the day of the attack. Another witness, Tracy Bywood, a care-home worker, told the court that Mr Mair was calm throughout and acted “as if he hadn’t done anything wrong”. She said that witnessing the killing in Birstall, West Yorkshire, on June 16 had “destroyed” her. He were calm, as if he hadn’t done anything wrong,” she said.
