The All-India Hindu Convention that began in Goa today resolved that cow should be declared as the national animal, while hitting out at the government for "delaying" the construction of Ram Temple in Ayodhya. In a series of resolutions adopted during the first day of the convention, the right wing organisations also sought to to make changes in school textbooks and remove portions of deformed history. "The central government should constitute a national history committee to remove portions of deformed history from all textbooks," read the resolution. During the convention, the speakers came down heavily on the Narendra Modi government holding it responsible for delay in construction of the Ram Temple. The convention, which has more than 130 organisations participating in, also resolved that "the ancient Indian science and studies should be included in the textbooks."
