Covid 19 Time SeriesNew evidence on the transmission of Covid-19 across the world shows that the coronavirus can spread beyond two metres. Eight out of 10 studies carried out in a recent review showed that horizontal projections of respiratory droplets surpassed the two-metre gauge. One of the studies showed that a droplet spread was detected over six to eight metres. Studies conducted on previous outbreaks like Avian flu, MERS-COV and SARS- COV-1 reported spread beyond two metres. Furthermore, “physical distancing should be seen as only one part of a wider public health approach to containing the Covid-19 pandemic.
