Covid "fugitive” brought to court

A Covid patient who escaped from a hospital earlier was brought to the Kowloon City Magistrates' Courts today, charged with exposing others to infection. Li Wan-keung, 63, was said to have run out of the isolation ward at Queen Elizabeth Hospital after leaving his isolation room on December 18. He was later intercepted by police officers in Mong Kok after a 54-hour manhunt. Li has refused to disclose his whereabouts during his time going on the run. Li may face a HK$5,000 penalty and up to six months imprisonment.
