The coronavirus pandemic has accelerated the adoption of electronic commerce (e-commerce) in the Philippines, a government official said on Monday. “We know the increased adoption of e-commerce over the past year. Lopez also said online business name registration more than tripled to 381 percent in the first quarter of 2021. “Covid-19 (coronavirus disease 2019) accelerated the adoption of e-commerce and facilitated the digital transformation of businesses and government,” said the Trade chief. Phase 2 of the CBP is underway and will further expand the coverage to integrate the registration with other agencies.
