Covid fallout puts extra strain on Waikato charity Clothe our Kids

Nikki Sherrard and Nicole Cowan have helped dress nearly 4000 Waikato children over the past five years. Clothe our Kids started as a small production in Sherrard’s spare room and has grown, now requiring a double garage and two extra pairs of hands. They get sick and then they miss out on school so it is making sure they’re getting an education because they’ve got warm clothing to go to school,” Sherrard said. Clothe our Kids began after Sherrard and Cowan ran out of kids to pass on their hand-me-downs to and knew a lot of children didn't have enough clothes. “We never have enough boys’ pants as they trash their pants,” Cowan said.
