COVID rates in Scotland have climbed for the second week in a row and are currently the highest in the UK, according to the latest surveillance by the Office for National Statistics. The majority of cases continue to be caused by the BA.5 sublineage of Omicron, which has comprised nearly 80% of all Covid cases sequenced in the UK since the end of June.
