England’s Sam Curran was last night tested for Covid-19 after self-isolating at the team hotel in Southampton with sickness and diarrhoea. Curran is due to get the result of the test today and if it is positive it will put next week’s first Test against West Indies in jeopardy. The 22-year-old fell ill on Wednesday night after playing on the opening day of the England squad’s practice match at the Ageas Bowl, where the Test is due to start on Wednesday. The England squad has sought to maintain a “biosecure bubble” since the 30-man squad convened last week.
