Covid-19 has exposed India's failure to deliver even the most basic obligations to its people

It has been argued that India's count of cases per million people is relatively low and so is the fatality level, or deaths per million people. The lower fatality rate can be partially explained by India's younger demography , and also by gaps in the registration of deaths.
