The Government has announced its first Covid-19 vaccine purchase agreement. A deal that would get New Zealand about 1.5 million Covid-19 vaccines - or enough for 750,000 people. "Pfizer have said they are making good progress with the development of a Covid-19 vaccine. And a local company has secured $3.3m in private funding to steam ahead with a Covid-19 vaccine made with Kiwi technology. The Covid-19 Vaccine Corporation (CVC), set up in May, has formed collaborations with the University of Auckland, Callaghan Innovation, and research institute Scion, in its bid to independently develop a homegrown coronavirus agent.
