The MIQ spokesperson said they were acutely aware of the extra needs of unaccompanied minors, and specialist staff were brought in to support the children. "The number of unaccompanied minors in the Auckland dedicated facility in December was around 50. "Numbers of unaccompanied minors in Christchurch were three in December, five in January, and two to date in February."
