While both countries are sportting relatively low couple of hundred Covid-19 positive cases as of 18 March 2020 (Philippines 202 cases; Indonesia 227 cases), their death rates spell nightmare. Both countries are exhibiting Covid-19 death rates way above and beyond norms of those countries still within the first wave of the outbreak. The Philippines (17 deaths) and Indonesia (19 deaths) have a Covid-19 mortality rate of about 8.4%. There are no integrated Customs Immigration and Quarantine complex between Sabah, the Philippines and Indonesia, although it was mooted for years.
