Robi Managing Director and CEO Mahtab Uddin Ahmed said that the Covid-19 pandemic hit the telecommunication business as well. "But our razor-sharp focus on cost optimization and lowering direct costs helped us to end the quarter with minimum profit," he added. It said their profit was heavily impacted by the 'discriminatory' 2% minimum turnover tax. The release inform that the active subscriber-base declined by 3.5% compared to the previous quarter, and it reached to 48,000,000 in this period.
