Dr Ashley Bloomfield says a possible link between current Auckland Covid cases and an earlier MIQ case is being investigated. There is one new case of Covid-19 within the community, linked to the existing cases. Three more cases have been confirmed in managed isolation, with one of the cases being classified as historical and deemed not infectious. The new community case means there are seven confirmed community cases in Auckland – a family-of-three was confirmed to have the virus last Sunday, and since then a close contact and three members of her household have also tested positive. The total number of confirmed cases is 1,992.
