Chris Hipkins will announce a review of the traffic light setting on Tuesday morning. The Government has decided to keep New Zealand in the orange setting of the Covid-19 Protection Framework, with the next review expected in late June, Hipkins said in a statement on Tuesday. The orange setting is for where community transmission poses a risk to vulnerable groups and puts pressure on the health system. They are also required at some gatherings and events, close-proximity businesses like hairdressers and food-and-drink businesses, on public transport and flights. The nation will shift to green when there is low community transmission and the health system is ready to respond, the framework says.
