Covid-19 NZ: Wellington readies for arrival of Aucklanders

Wellington Airport chief executive Steve Sanderson said on Tuesday night that the airport was “ready and looking forward to welcoming Aucklanders back”. There are 17 return flights to Auckland scheduled in and out of Wellington on Wednesday. Wellington Airport communications manager Melanie Nunn said the terminal would be “much busier” as Aucklanders accounted for a large amount of the airport’s domestic passengers. On the roads, it’s unknown how many Aucklanders are due to arrive in Wellington on Wednesday, or how many Wellingtonians may leave.
