Covid-19: Highly vaccinated communities see far fewer deaths - study

High vaccination rates reduced Covid-19 deaths by more than 80% compared with places with low vaccine uptake, according to a major study of cases in the United States. Low vaccination counties had 60% fewer death rates than the very low baseline, while those with medium coverage had 75% fewer deaths and those with high vaccination rates saw 81% fewer deaths. In the US, 77.5% of the population aged 5 and over has now received one dose of a Covid-19 vaccine, according to the Mayo Clinic. STUFF Are Covid-19 vaccines effective across all ethnicities? It’s worth noting – the US used a range of Covid-19 vaccines, most of which required two doses before people were considered fully vaccinated, though one required only one dose.
