Fiji Police More than 1000 people have been arrested in Fiji for breaching the daily curfew restriction. In a 24-hour period ending on Wednesday morning, Fiji recorded 791 new cases and three deaths from Covid-19, taking the total death toll to 42. It also indicates that, despite the concerning and escalating number of cases, there is no lockdown in place across Fiji. But rather than the Pfizer vaccine, Fiji is using AstraZeneca​, both because it was immediately available and because it fit with Fiji’s cold chain technology. The Pfizer vaccine must be stored at lower temperatures.
