One Kiwi grandma is crossing her fingers that her flight to Perth on Wednesday will take off. Quarantine-free travel between New Zealand and Western Australia was suspended on Friday night after the state reported a new Covid-19 outbreak and the city of Perth plunged into lockdown. She was now “a little unsettled” and “waiting in trepidation” over whether her new flight will take off. Covid-19 Response Minister Chris Hipkins said on Monday the government was considering further advice from health officials to aid its decision-making process, and was awaiting results from additional testing performed in Western Australia. The government is working to have its decision finalised before the first flight is scheduled to leave Western Australia on Tuesday night.
