Covid-19: Govt criticised for cutting support payments to Kiwis stranded overseas

(File photo)The government is turning off the tap on support payments to New Zealanders stranded overseas by Covid-19. Earlier figures provided in the Ministry's 2019/2020 annual report show about that amount was apportioned to support for “NZ beneficiaries stranded overseas”. Under a Covid-19 special assistance programme the Ministry continued payments to people stranded overseas. “I know Covid-19 has had a significant impact on New Zealanders overseas.
