This takes the total number of cases in the Delta outbreak to 879, including 590 active community cases. Bloomfield said there were now 29 unlinked 'mystery' cases under investigation in the outbreak, including six today. Bloomfield said at this stage of the outbreak cases were popping up in the tail, and so a lot of effort was going into checking for those chains of transmission. This weekend was critical for high testing, Bloomfield said, adding there were 23 testing sites across Auckland open today.
