Cafe owner Greg Cornes has called the Government's decision to keep Auckland school holidays unchanged short-sighted and a poor outcome for families with children. Greg Cornes owns Auckland bagel chain Goodness Gracious and is one of many parents who had been calling for school holidays to be brought forward. Newmarket Primary School principal Dr Wendy Kofoed said she had heard from many parents who wanted their children to have a "real wellbeing holiday" in October.
