Covid-19: Countdown store closes after being told staff member 'may have tested positive'

Countdown Quay St has been closed for a deep clean, on the same day as the family member of an infected MIQ worker returned a weak positive Covid-19 test result. Case A visited BestStart St Lukes childcare centre to pick up a grandchild on Friday March 19, according to Fiona Hughes, a spokeswoman for the childcare centre. A Countdown store in central Auckland also confirmed it closed for a deep clean after a staff member said they “may have tested positive for Covid”. But neither the childcare centre nor the supermarket have been disclosed by health officials as locations of interest. Both Countdown Quay St and the childcare centre had closed for a deep clean on Tuesday and reopened on Wednesday.
