Covid-19: Checkpoints moved in Auckland's north after lockdown confusion

The checkpoints north of Auckland are being “refined” to clear up confusion about whether parts of Kaipara are in alert level 2 or 3, Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern says. Auckland has entered alert level 3 until Wednesday night after three new community Covid-19 cases were diagnosed in the region's south. DAVID WHITE/STUFF Road blocks have been set up north of Auckland as the region goes into alert level 3. DAVID WHITE/STUFF Kaipara District Mayor Dr Jason Smith says the Government has not adequately communicated with Kaipara residents. “The current three existing checkpoints north of Auckland will be relocated back to the same five locations from the last regional lockdown in 2020,” police said.
