This was the fourth time in the last five days that the country broke its record for most Covid-19 deaths in a single day. The total fatalities in the country now stands at 9,987, according to health directorate data collected between 8am Tuesday and 8am Wednesday. So far, 7,435 men (74.55%) and 2,552 women (25.55%) have died from Covid-19 across the country. The mortality rate against the total number of cases detected so far stands at 1.42%. The overall infection rate in the country stands at 13.8%.
