The decision comes as a means to prevent the spread of the novel coronavirus (Covid-19), with the first patients having tested positive for the virus in Cox’s Bazar, said Additional Deputy Commissioner Md Shamim Hossain on Tuesday, while confirming the matter to Dhaka Tribune. Bandarban District Council says the health department has also trained 300 volunteers to prevent the spread of the novel coronavirus in the district. Bandarban Hill District Council Chairman Kyaw Shwe Hla distributed disinfectant sprayers, gloves, jackets and other gears and tools among volunteers at the district council auditorium on the same day. According to the health department, as of Tuesday 50 people have been sent to quarantine in Bandarban.
