A Melbourne nightclub has been fined more than $10,000 after breaching Covid-19 rules and hosting a maskless dance party with up to 1,000 people. Police were called to the party at Riva on Marine Parade, in St Kilda, at 10.15pm on Saturday. Video footage from the night showed the club packed wall to wall with partygoers dancing along to a DJ and disregarding social distancing and face mask rules. The venue was fined $10,904 and is being investigated by police and the Health Department. 'Upon attending the Marine Parade address about 10.15pm, police observed up to 1,000 patrons in clear and blatant breach of the chief health officer directions,' it said.
