There are 8182 new community cases of Covid-19, as officials report a further 13 deaths in people who had the virus. The 13 deaths reported on Wednesday bring the total number of publicly reported deaths in people who had Covid-19 in the 28 days before they died to 1185. The rolling seven-day average of reported deaths is 14. In addition, the ministry also reported a further 89 imported (border) cases on Wednesday. Wednesday marks the beginning of winter, and hospitals are already reporting being under pressure due to respiratory illnesses – including, but not just, Covid-19 cases.
