The Ministry of Health has announced 7800 new community cases on Friday, and 17 deaths. There were also 401 hospitalisations, including 14 in ICU, reported in a statement released at 1pm on Friday. Earlier this week New Zealand surpassed 1000 deaths with Covid mark. The number of reported Covid deaths now sits at 1039, with a rolling seven-day average of 14 deaths with Covid. Nationwide, the seven-day rolling average of community case numbers on Friday was 8032 – last Friday it was 7548.
