The seven-day rolling average of community case numbers today is 6960 – last Friday, it was 8032. On Wednesday, the ministry reported the first case of Omicron sub-variant BA.2.12.1 without a clear link to the border. “We have to expect that case numbers will continue in the thousands for some time to come.”
