TEN more people have died from the coronavirus in Ireland, taking the country’s death toll to 46, the National Public Health Emergency Team has announced. The Health Protection Surveillance Centre has also been informed of 200 new confirmed cases of Covid-19 in Ireland. Dr Tony Holohan, Chief Medical Officer at the Department of Health, said they are continuing to build capacity in intensive care units. “While we continue to build our capacity for intensive care, our strategy remains to prevent people from needing intensive care in the first place. “I welcome the measures taken by the Irish Blood Transfusion Board to implement social distancing at their clinics and to maintain the blood supply.
