Bharat Biotech's indigenous manufactured vaccine Covaxin, can effectively neutralize UK variants of COVID-19, reducing the possibility of mutant virus escape, finds a study. On Wednesday Bharat Biotech tweeted, "Covaxin effectively neutralises UK variants of SARS-CoV-2 reducing the possibility of mutant virus escape." UK strain cases in IndiaSo far, 150 cases of the UK strain have been found in India. Covaxin factsheetEarlier, Bharat Biotech advised in a factsheet that people who are immuno-compromised or are taking medicines that affect their immune system should not take Covaxin. Bharat Biotech issued the factsheet just two days after the launch of vaccination drive in the country.
