Dhaka courts have granted bail to more than 200 leaders and activists of the BNP and Jamaat-e-Islami in different cases without hearing from state counsels or police prosecutors. Three judges, including Dhaka Chief Metropolitan Court magistrates Nurul Huda and Ali Haider Kamal, granted the bail petitions. More than 200 leaders and activists had been granted bail so far, said lawyer Omar Farook Farooki. ”Nur received bail in two separate cases. Jamaat leaders who received bail included Secretary General Mia Golam Parwar, Nayeb-e-Amir Abdullah Md Abu Taher, former secretary of Gazipur Jamaat Samiul Haque Farooki and former Chhatra Shibir president Rashedul Islam.
