"The public should avoid making statements that are intended to direct the court on the conduct of the petition, " said the Supreme Court judges. Uhuru Kenyatta and Raila Odinga have however in the past (not so long ago) made comments about the presidential election petition but will not be charged as the court had not yet issued the directive by this time. During a memorial service for his father, Jomo Kenyatta, Uhuru told the church that he was confident of winning the Supreme Court petition against his re-election. Raila Odinga:While filing the petition, Raila said the case provides the opportunity for the Supreme Court to 'redeem itself' by correcting the mistakes they made when handling a similar petition in 2013.
