The presiding judge, Abena Oppong Adjin-Doku, said the excuses were many and charged Bishop Obinim to be present at the next adjourned date. Bishop Obinim, together with two of his pastors, is standing trial for allegedly assaulting his adopted children – a 14-year-old girl and a 16-year-old boy in the presence of his congregation. In court yesterday, Rev Kwadjo Adu Boahen, a member of the church, who represented Bishop Obinim, said that he (Obinim) was sick and that his driver had to take him to the hospital, hence his absence. The matter has taken over one month adjournment as the prosecutor told the court he was going on leave.
