ISLAMABAD: An accountability court in Islamabad on Friday dismissed the National Accountability Bureau’s (NAB) plea for trial against Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Vice President Maryam Nawaz in the Avenfield properties reference. PML-N vice president appeared before the court over the use of a bogus trust deed in the said case. Earlier in the day, a large number of PML-N supporters gathered in Islamabad to welcome the PML-N vice president. A number of PML-N workers were also arrested by the police for protesting outside the accountability court. PML-N stalwarts Ahsan Iqbal and Murtaza Javed Abbasi were also stopped at the checkpoint and kept from entering the accountability court premises.
