Sundratiki village council chief Abdul Ali Bagal, his two sons Jewel Mia and Rubel Mia, Arju Mia, ‘Shahed,’ Ustar Mia, Babul Mia and ‘Billal’ are defendants in the case. Ustar Mia, Babul Mia and Billal are on the run while the rest are in detention. Habiganj Women and Children Repression Prevention Tribunal’s Special Public Prosecutor Abul Hashem Mullah told bdnews24.com the five convicts were presented to the court on Wednesday. The court denied bail to Arju Mia following his petition and set Sep 26 for taking testimonies. Investigation revealed that the murder was conducted over a familial conflict between two village council chiefs – Abdal Mia Talukdar and Abdal Ali Bagal.
