Olaide Oyelude,KatsinaA 50-year-old man, Usman Audu, has been remanded in the Katsina Prison till January 4, 2018, for allegedly defiling a seven-year-old girl, said to be the daughter of his neighbour. The police told the court that Audu lured the girl from where she was hawking items to his bedroom to commit the act. The victim’s father,Yazidu Ibrahim, was said to have reported the incident at the Baure Police Division, leading to Audu’ s arrest. The police further told the court that Audu, Ibrahim and the victim live in the same house in the village. The magistrate, Adiza Danja, directed that Audu be remanded in custody and adjourned the case till January 4, 2018.
