A doctor accused of causing the death of a mother and her newborn twins got a reprieve on Wednesday after the High Court temporarily halted her suspension. Justice George Odunga ordered that a verdict suspending Dr Mary Nyamogo from private practice for six months be temporarily lifted. “Leave granted herein shall operate as a stay of the decision, ruling and orders of the medical board dated April 11 pending the hearing and determination of this case,” Justice Odunga ruled. In the complaint before the board, Dr Nyamogo is accused of malpractice and unethical conduct. Mr Isaac Katilu, whose wife Margaret Katilu and their twins died on January 18, 2015, claimed that Dr Nyamogo assured the couple that the deceased would be fine and would not need an operation.
