NewsThe Colombo Fort Magistrate today issued an open warrant for the arrest of former Sri Lankan Ambassador to Russia, Udayanga Weeratunga. Interpol issued a 'red notice' for Mr Weeatunga last month, citing that he was wanted by authorities in Sri Lanka. The former ambassador is wanted in connection with the investigation into an alleged financial scandal regarding the purchase of several MiG-27 from Ukraine for the use of the Sri Lanka Air Force (SLAF).
