Court asks INEC to make Kabba Kogi west collation centre

A Federal high court, sitting in Lokoja, has restrained the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) from using Lokoja as the coalition centre for Kogi west senatorial district. The motion was filed following the statement by the Kogi state Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC), James Apam, where he said the Kogi West Senatorial district coalition centre would be Lokoja as against Kabba that is the senatorial headquarters. Apam had argued that on assumption, he met Lokoja as the coalition centre of Kogi west with all efforts meant to convince him proving abortive. The development made the PDP approach the court seeking an interlocutory injunction restraining INEC from using Lokoja as the collation centre. By the ruling, the presiding judge ordered that coalition and announcement of results of the Kogi west senatorial district should now hold in Kabba.
