Former federal minister will be shifted to Karachi for investigationLAHORE: An accountability court handed over Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader and former federal minister for ports and shipping Kamran Michael to National Accountability Bureau (NAB) on a five-day transit remand for investigation into allegations of illegal allotment of Karachi Port Trust land. Michael, who was arrested a day earlier by NAB for misusing his authority as a federal minister, will be shifted to Karachi for investigation. The court remarked that the matter would be debated in the Karachi court. He had added that NAB was also investigating a corruption reference filed in a separate probe involving 16 other plots. In May 2018, NAB had reportedly launched a probe against Michael for allegedly accumulating assets beyond known sources of income during his stint as the ports and shipping minister.
