THE Sandiganbayan’s Fifth Division allowed former Sen. Jose “Jinggoy” Estrada to travel to Singapore from October 1 to 8 in order to accompany his mother for a medical examination. The defense said in its motion that former senator Luisa “Loi” Ejercito informed Estrada of her need to have a medical examination done by a certain practicing neurosurgeon at a hospital in Singapore. According to the urgent motion, the appointment for examinations is from October 1 to 8. Estrada, who is out on bail, is facing a plunder case and graft cases before the court along with other individuals in connection with the Priority Development Assistance Fund or pork barrel scam.
